A dream realized by Italian fashion designer, Piergiorgio, this white clapboard inn has a wrap-around verandah adorned with ornamental gingerbread, characteristic of Sosua’s glory days in the Victorian era. The front entrance replicates a gazebo and faces a dramatic marble staircase that ascends to the third-floor, Italianate penthouses with expansive sundecks.
Romantics take to the pink and white floral guest rooms, half of which have ocean view, (the rest overlook the kidney-shaped pool). The bathrooms with their Italian appliances, (bidets, too) add style. With its own brand of Italian hospitality and friendly Dominican staffers, the inn has a magnetic charisma and guests have trouble leaving, which is why three new apartments have been configured for extended stays. |
